Accountability at checkout
The party presented as merchant must own the operational responsibilities that follow the transaction.
About OpenPia
OpenPia is building the Merchant of Record layer for eligible digital products and software services, connecting responsible checkout operations, transaction records, buyer care and seller settlement.
Why we exist
A good product is only one part of a sustainable digital business. Someone still has to operate checkout, issue transaction documents, reconcile payments, respond to refund requests and establish a reliable route from buyer payment to seller payout.
OpenPia brings those responsibilities together in a merchant model. Sellers remain responsible for creating and supporting their products; OpenPia operates the approved transaction relationship under clearly defined terms.
We are starting with Ethiopia because infrastructure works best when it is designed around the market it serves, not imported as an afterthought.
The party presented as merchant must own the operational responsibilities that follow the transaction.
Seller verification, product review and clear customer terms come before processing growth.
The operating model starts with Ethiopian sellers, payment context and commercial requirements.
Receipts, support routes and refund handling should be understandable to the person making the purchase.
The company behind the brand
For legal transparency, OpenPia is operated by Pia Nexus One Member PLC. That relationship is disclosed here without sending customers away from the OpenPia website for product, support or legal information.
